Each year Krug invites eight renowned chefs from different parts of Spain to explore the culinary possibilities of a single ingredient and it´s pairing with Krug champagne. This initiative, called "Single Ingredient," began in 2015 and is based on the idea of treating each component of their champagnes as a unique ingredient.

2020 - SINGLE INGREDIENT - THE EGG - GIRONA

For the first time in its history, the Champagne house gathers eight chefs from renowned restaurants across different parts of Spain to explore the culinary possibilities of eggs and their pairing with Krug.

2021 - SINGLE INGREDIENT - ONION - AVILA

This year, Maison Krug paused for a few hours to pay tribute to the onion, with the participation of Spanish chefs at Château Roostiq, the estate in Ávila owned by Alberto Zoilo Álvarez, a Krug Lover and owner of Roostiq. Here, the spirit of Joseph Krug has been reincarnated to empower unlimited creativity in a celebration that revolves around the fusion of craftsmanship and epicureanism.

2022 SINGLE INGREDIENT - RICE - ALBUFEIRA

This year, Krug traveled to the Albufera in Valencia to pay tribute to rice with the participation of the five Krug Ambassadors and Spanish Krug Lover chefs in a luxury event.

Chefs and sommeliers from Llisa Negra, Leña, El Portal, Roostiq, Estimar, Casamar, Andreu Genestra, and Xavier Pellicer left their restaurant kitchens for a day to connect with rice, exploring its full potential and creating new culinary possibilities, always paired with a glass of Krug Grande Cuvée or Krug Rosé.

2023 - SINGLE INGREDIENT - LEMON - MALLORCA

The French house celebrates a new edition of Single Ingredient, this time focused on this citrus fruit, with chef Andreu Genestra as the master of ceremonies.

For this occasion, they have chosen the Monastery of Miramar, located on the outskirts of Valldemosa (Mallorca), an idyllic setting surrounded by lemon orchards. Here, they have brought together the chefs and sommeliers from the Krug Ambassadors and Krug Lovers in Spain to connect with the citrus fruit and explore its creative potential on a gastronomic journey.
